Mt. Joys success through indie folk music
The band ‘Mt. Joy’ has grown their nine year band into one of the biggest indie bands in the world. Their success has been developed over years of making music and growing relationships. The band out of Philadelphia has grown to super stardom, as their biggest song ‘Astrovan’ went viral, and sits on over 100 million streams on Spotify. All members come from so many different paths that led them to a band member.

Philadelphia’s Mt. Joy formed in 2016, which actually formed at Northeastern University by singer Matt Quinn. Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper reunited after high school to write music together. Throughout the years, Mt. Joy went from two friends making music together, to big stages all around the world. They later added Sotiris Eliopoulus on drums, Jackie Miclau on keyboard, and Michael Byrnes on Bass. They later dropped hit songs such as Silver Lining, Dirty Love and more.

Mt. Joy currently sells out events and performs at some of the biggest festivals on the globe. Their style of Indie music speaks to their growing audience around the world. They sit with over a billion streams, and those numbers are growing. Indie Folk music is a growing genre of music. So many talented artists categorize themselves at Indie Folk artists, and Mt. Joy has given themselves great credibility as a great Indie Folk band.
