The Alaskan Airline Flight Door Found In Portland
A horrifying thought to many travelers became true to some flying out of Portland. During a flight from Portland to Ontario, the door of a Boeing 737-9 MAX blew off no more than 10 minutes after the flight took off from PDX.
Daily Mail: The Inside Of The Plane That Made An Emergency Landing
The flight made an emergency landing back to PDX, and nobody was hurt. Though that’s great news, the trauma of the horrifying experience is most likely seeped into the passenger’s brains. This is a very rare occurrence, and the first time I have ever seen something like this happen out of an airport I would use frequently.
NTSB: The door that flew out was discovered in a teachers yard in Portland,OR
The door was discovered in a teacher’s yard after the incident. NTSB is the organization conducting the investigation as to why the door came off. They are sending the door plug to Washington, DC to run tests. Two phones were also discovered after they had fallin out of the plane. The pressure of door opening in mid-air also made the cockpit door fly open, blowing out emergency procedure documents and making it harder for the pilots to make an emergency landing.
This is a terrifying scenario that I’m sure many travelers never want to experience. There will be an investigation from the NTSB regarding what had happened, and they will go from there.
