Masonn Deforrest interview
The Pacific Northwest has bred some big artists over the years. Artists like Amine, foo fighters, Macklemore and more. One name on the rise is Masonn Deforrest. Masonn currently sits on over 50 million streams, and is growing his name to make it more. We interviewed Masonn to see where his mind is on his career and life outside of music.

Masonn Deforrest grew up in Eugene, Oregon, who then moved down to California to pursue music. He moved for a better chance and to be surrounded by like minded people chasing the same dream.
“I love Oregon, but going south would obviously set me up with like minded people, and that’s the best way to make it nowadays.”
Masonn has many friends who are in the industry as well, and some of them also reside in Eugene. He loves to work with local artists who are on the come up like him.
“I love being around people I can trust, and many of those people are artists from right here in Eugene. I go back with a lot of them, and we’ve all helped each other along the way.”

Masonn had put out a lot of music before catching some traction. It took years for his music to start catching the public eye. As of the last couple of years, he has really made a name for himself. Masonn is really thankful to be able to work some big artists in his time. One of those who really helped him is Lumi Athena.
“Being able to work with Lumi really activated my numbers and put my name on the map. I’m just thankful she liked my music, and was eager to do a song with me just like I was with her.”

Masonn looks to enhance his career and put out music that people love. He is currently back in Oregon working on his craft, but stays close to his connections he made down in California.
“I love being back home, and I’m just working on me right now. I just got engaged, so I’m gonna enjoy that while working on music, and hopefully we only go up from here.”
