Food Review! Newman’s Fish Company!

Newman’s Fish Company is a local fish market and restaurant in Eugene, Oregon that serves incredibly fresh products right from the market and into your belly. It’s always so hot and fresh and is such a great date spot as well! They have a cover too for when it rains or snows and in any type of weather is it a perfect meal. The prices are a little high but for fresh, quality, and local ingredients, is any price too high? The fish batter is so crispy and light and the fish just melts in your mouth. Halibut is my favorite but their rockfish and cod is no joke at all. We got the Cajun shrimp po boy sandwich with fries and the coconut shrimp with fries. The sandwich was massive and filled to the brim with delicious lettuce, pickled onions, tomatoes, and perfectly cooked Cajun shrimp. The bread was warm and soft too with a little toast on it. You could taste the seasoning on the shrimp and the fries were hand cut and super crispy but soft in the middle. Better than any McDonalds fry or better than most fries honestly. It had such a taste of time and effort instead of it just being a side dish. The coconut shrimp was fried perfectly and everything felt so good once you ate it too. Usually with fried food I feel so bloated and greasy but everything was just so well done that I didn’t get that feeling at all. The coconut really came through and with the cocktail sauce it was amazing and same with the tartar sauce as well! I preferred it without sauce because it’s already so good and just melts in your mouth it’s so good. It was quite a bit of food and for the pretty high price, it was worth it. I’ll show some pictures down below and it will just make your mouth water. If you’re a seafood lover then this is the place for you. Make sure to check out the market as well because they have a lot of good, local products as well. The smell from this place always drives me wild and I love walking by here. It’s in a really cool and pretty part of town with lots of neat shops and restaurants by it. The seating area is very cute and it’s a really cool date shop or place to bring friends that are visiting out of town and grab a bite to eat and a souvenir. Overall, a really good food place and I’d give it a 4 out of 5 stars. If it was a bit cheaper then it would easily get 5 out of 5 stars.
