Oregon has become a summer hotspot over the years. The beautiful state supplies so many fun summer activities, with swimming being one of the best. From lakes, creeks, rivers, etc. Oregon delivers on beauty and good times. Here we will go over some of the best spots in Oregon, to make your summer experience the best it can be.

5. MT. PISGAH

Mt. Pisgah is a fan favorite with the Eugene locals. It offers a great swim with friends and family, Pisgah is a beautiful hidden spot in Eugene, with water with great temperature, a beautiful hike, and amazing views, this place is fantastic. There are multiple spots to find and swim, so it provides a fun adventure as well. It is a low risk area that is calm water, so it feels like you’re at a pool.

4. Dorena Lake

Dorena lake is a popular reservoir down south on the Row River in Lane County. With lots of open water, it’s popular with boats and rafts. However, you can still swim as well. There are designated swimming areas and you still aren’t limited to all of Dorena. It is also a good spot for picnicking. Wether with friends or family, there are lots of areas to relax and sit out under the sun. With Dorena Lake being just about a 30 minute drive from Eugene, it’s a easy place to find and a great summer outing.

3. Brice Creek

P/travel lane county

Brice Creek is a hidden swimming hole near Dorena in Lane County. Although very cold, it offers so much fun and beautiful sights to see. From beautiful waterfalls, to cliff jumping, this spot is amazing. You may have a hard time finding it, as it’s not very out in the open. You must take a short hike to get there, but it’s well worth it.

2. Wildwood Falls

Wildwood Falls is a personal favorite of mine, and to many others as well. Wildwood offers great rock climbing, rock jumping, a great swim, and an aesthetically beautiful sight. Wildwood is also near Dorena in the Lane County area. It is in a convenient sight with a good amount of parking. Though very fun, it can also be dangerous. Deaths due to drowning have occurred due to the current near the waterfall. Be careful in the strong areas, and try to avoid them.

1.Dexter Reservoir

P/Travel Lane County

Dexter Reservoir is the most popular swim spot for the College kid demographic. It’s sort of the hang out spot for it. Outside of that, Dexter actually offers a great swim and great views. Dexter has a large grass field for activities and laying out in the sun. You’ll always see people having fun out at Dexter. Also located in the Lane County area, it is an easy commute from Eugene. Grab some friends and head out to Dexter for a fun afternoon.

Summary

Oregon’s Lane County offers a ton of swimming spots other than these ones. However, these places are the more popular and more aesthetically pleasing places to visit in my opinion. I grew up in this town and have been to these places countless times. I hope you get out and explore these amazing places.
